Epsilon join Sprout as the second team to progress through the European open qualifiers to claim a spot at Charleroi Esports following a 2-0 victory over Nemiga in the grand final.
The international squad progressed to the grand final after beating AVEZ 2-0 in the semi-final, with Nils "k1to" Gruhne notably putting up an incredible 1.90 rating across the series. Joining Epsilon in the grand final was Nemiga, who took down Polish side Izako Boars 2-1 in the other semi-final.
A dominant first map on Inferno from Epsilon saw the international lineup recover from a 5-1 deficit to win 15 rounds consecutively and secure a 16-5 scoreline. Nemiga stepped up their game going into Cache, winning their CT side 8-7. An Igor "lollipop21k" Solodkov 4k in the second half pistol proved futile as Epsilon went on to put up another great streak of nine rounds, closing out the map at 16-11.
With Epsilon’s qualification, the team list for Charleroi Esports, taking place from April 12-14 in Charleroi, Belgium, currently looks as follows:
The full team list for the tournament is yet to be completed as the Asian open qualifier is still to take place and an additional team is still to be invited.
